Abyssinian vs Cymric

The Cymric and Abyssinian breeds both have similar lifespans, ranging from 12 to 15 years, but they differ in various aspects including size, energy levels, and sociability. The Cymric, originating from Canada, is slightly larger and heavier, weighing between 4 to 7 kg and standing 25-30 cm tall. In contrast, the Abyssinian hails from Ethiopia, is smaller, weighing 3.5 to 4.5 kg, and measuring 20-25 cm in height. While both breeds are known for their playful nature, the Abyssinian exhibits a higher intelligence and trainability level. The Cymric has a moderate energy level and grooming difficulty, whereas the Abyssinian is more energetic and easier to groom. Both breeds are sociable and good with kids, making them suitable for families and first-time owners. However, their tolerance to different climates varies, with the Cymric being better suited for cold climates and the Abyssinian for hot climates.
