Calm British Shorthair who simply wants human companionship

I'm going to write this without making it too perfect because, to be honest, I'm not someone who usually writes ads. This British Shorthair has lived with us for over two and a half years and has gradually become part of the household routine. He's not a hyperactive cat, nor one of those that jumps all over the place. He usually moves slowly around the apartment and looks for a comfortable spot near where people are. Many times when I'm working on my laptop, he appears silently and sits nearby, watching what I'm doing as if he's curious. At night, he usually sleeps near the sofa when the house is quiet. The reason we're looking for a new home is simply because our schedule has changed quite a bit in the last year, and the apartment is empty for too many hours each day. We believe that a cat who enjoys human presence so much should live in a home where there is more activity during the day.
