Description

This African Grey parrot has lived with us for a little over six years, and frankly, he's become so accustomed to human presence that he reacts to every conversation as if he always wants to be part of it. In the morning, he often waits for us to open the curtains, then he starts making little noises when he hears the dishes or the coffee machine, and he's even kept up the habit of imitating a telephone ringtone he heard all the time at our house. He's not an aggressive or nervous bird; on the contrary, he prefers to observe calmly, but it's clear he doesn't cope well with long days without interaction. When someone speaks to him softly, he turns his head, stares at the person, and sometimes responds with a very precise sound, almost like a conversation. We regularly let him out under supervision; he perches on the back of a chair or on the living room furniture and just watches everything that's going on. His diet is consistent, with appropriate pellets, pieces of apple, carrot, a few nuts now and then, and he's always been properly cared for. The reason for the announcement is simple but difficult for us to accept: our lifestyle has completely changed in the last few months and he spends too much time alone, which is not fair to such an intelligent bird.
