Highly intelligent African grey parrot raised in a family environment

I'm going to write this as it comes to me because this parrot has been with us for quite some time and it's not easy to find him another home. His name is Nico and he came to us almost five years ago. At first, he was very quiet and observed everything from his perch, but over time he started to imitate sounds from the house. Now he can copy some everyday noises and sometimes even tries to repeat words he hears frequently. He spends quite a bit of time outside his cage and likes to be near people while they go about their normal activities. Sometimes it seems like he's listening to conversations even though he doesn't say anything. The problem is that my job changed and I spend many hours away from home. African grey parrots need daily interaction and it doesn't seem fair to me that he spends so many hours alone. That's why I'd prefer to find someone who truly enjoys living with such an intelligent bird.
