This African Grey parrot has been living with us indoors for about five years and, frankly, unlike a typical caged bird, it's quite integrated into our household routine. In the mornings, it immediately pays attention when it hears a sound in the kitchen, especially distinguishing between the sound of a teaspoon and a kettle, as it reacts differently to both. It loves listening attentively when someone is talking on the phone, sometimes even trying to repeat the intonations it hears. It's not a very noisy bird; it's more of an observer. It doesn't panic and fly away immediately when the cage door is opened; it checks its surroundings first and then slowly exits. It's picky about fruit, liking apples but not particularly fond of bananas. Recently, a job change and a change of city have disrupted our routine of caring for it, so we really want to find it a loving home with someone patient and somewhat knowledgeable about bird psychology.
