Male and female Congo grey parrots, very sociable. Hand-raised Congo grey parrots, available now. All our parrots are affectionate and used to the presence of young children and the hustle and bustle of a home. We raise our Congo grey chicks in small broods so that each one receives a lot of attention from a young age. This ensures that they are perfectly tamed and easy to handle, for a happy life with their new parents. They are all weaned on a mix of seeds and fresh fruits and vegetables. I only entrust my birds to their new homes when they are able to eat and drink on their own and I am sure they are ready for the big change. Congo grey parrots are renowned for their incredible ability to talk. These birds can memorize and imitate hundreds of words. I was surprised by a Congo grey parrot we had in the shop that not only spoke beautifully but also imitated the local birds from its birthplace, the Blue Mountains, such as currawongs and bellbirds, with perfect clarity. Like most parrots, they usually only start talking at around 9 months of age.
