Description

this one is actually hard to write because this parrot has been around for a long time. his name is Rio and he has lived with our family for about six years. when he first arrived he was very quiet and just observed everything around him but after a few months he started copying small sounds from the house. first it was the microwave beep, then the door sound, and eventually a few short words. he spends most of the day outside of the cage sitting on the chair next to my desk while i work. sometimes he just watches silently and sometimes he tries to repeat random noises he hears. african greys are incredibly intelligent birds and they really need interaction. unfortunately my job changed and i now spend most of the day outside the house which means he stays alone far too long. that is honestly the only reason we are posting this. i would rather see him living with someone who enjoys talking to birds and letting them be part of daily life.
